Vertically Integrated Greenhouse Gas Measurement Ecosystem: Best Management Practices
The main challenge in measuring and analyzing greenhouse gas emissions in the Energy Industry involves consolidating data from various sources to gain a comprehensive understanding of climate performance. This presentation explores the concept of a "vertically integrated" GHG measurement system, which combines asset-grade instrumentation with data from environmental compliance programs to identify environmental risks on a large scale. By utilizing both top-down and bottom-up emissions modeling approaches interchangeably, and collecting data from multiple sources at each level, a more accurate index of ground truth can be generated for proper contextualization of environmental events.
